Methodology & Sources

How Panorama Politics Works

Panorama Politics ingests news from across the political spectrum and uses AI to synthesize a balanced, fact-grounded briefing — showing you what the left, center, and right are saying, and why it matters.

How It Works

From source to synthesis

01
Ingestion

RSS feeds and NewsAPI pull articles from 20+ verified sources every 15 minutes.

02
Clustering

Articles on the same topic within a 6-hour window are grouped into a single story cluster.

03
Synthesis

Claude AI reads every article in the cluster and generates a structured neutral briefing.

04
Display

You see the headline, left/center/right perspectives, a bias score, and the verified source list.

All AI summarization runs on Claude (Anthropic) using a strict neutral system prompt that explicitly instructs the model to present facts from multiple viewpoints without editorial opinion. No human editors alter or approve summaries before publication.

Bias Score

How the bias score is calculated

−1.0 Hard Left0.0 Neutral+1.0 Hard Right

The bias score is a float from −1.0 (hard left) to +1.0 (hard right), with 0.0 representing neutral. Claude derives the score based on three signals:

Important caveat:The bias score is an AI inference, not an algorithmic measurement. It reflects Claude’s assessment of the available source material and may not perfectly capture every nuance. Use it as a directional signal, not a definitive verdict.
Source Tiers

Where the news comes from

Sources are selected for editorial credibility and political diversity. No single tier dominates — every cluster is required to include voices from more than one political direction before a summary is published.

Tier 1 — Always Included

Wire services and public broadcasters with documented editorial independence.

Tier 2 — Center-Left
